Peter 's Square in the City of the Vatican, the pontiff said that "Dionisio Pamplona and his fellow martyrs are not heroes of a human war, but educators of youth, which their condition as religious and teachers faced their tragic destiny as an authentic testimony of faith. A former associate editor at America Media, Segura is a co-founder and former co-host of the podcast Jesuitical. He was beatified by Pope John Paul II on October 1, 1995, along with Father Dionisio Pamplona Polo and 11 fellow Piarist martyrs of Aragon. As a Piarist priest, Oteiza had been the teacher of 23 groups of children from Peralta de la Sal. At that time they were shot and their bodies were mutilated and burned with gasoline. This Antonio lowered his rifle and looked away ruefully. Then, Father Oteiza recognized one of his former students and said: « Antonio, are you going to kill your teacher? ». On August 9, 1936, Oteiza and Brother Florentín were taken out of Peralta by car and when they left the town, in Azanuy, they were taken down from it and in the gutter they were placed before their executioners. He still thought that because of his illness, suffering from Parkinson's disease since 1920, he was not going to be executed. In them he describes the events that occurred, among others the farewell to Father Dionisio Pamplona Polo, rector of the community, and the other two companions, Father Manuel and Brother David, who were assassinated a few days before. During the last days of the Piarist community of Peralta de la Sal, he wrote several letters to the provincial father of the Order and to the relatives of his murdered comrades.
